We have raved about Mo Willems's children's books before, and I am going to do it again. I Broke My Trunk! was such a treat to read. Once again, Gerald is getting caught up playing games and telling Piggie all about them. The two characters have such a charming friendship and you can't help but laugh at the dialogue. Children and adults will love these wholesome stories that include such simple, but incredible entertaining pictures. A perfect gift for your preschool or younger kids.

We Are In A Book!: In this story, the duo find out that they are in a book. Oh, the fun that can be had with the readers. Piggie makes the reader say silly words, which soon has the pair falling down laughing. It doesn’t take long for Gerald to realize that the book will end, which of course makes him horribly upset. However, Piggie comes to the rescue just in time and has Gerald ask the readers to return to read about them in another book. Willems' books are perfect to read out loud. Filled with a variety of emotions and humor that are sure to entertain your young reader. The illustrations display every feeling that Gerald and Piggie go through perfectly. A delightful and cute read.

Gerald and Piggie decided that they want to play catch. As they are getting read to play, a new friend appears and wants too play as well. Gerald and Piggie are a bit hesitant since their new friend is a snake, (whose has no arms!). After several failed attempts, the three find a way where they can all play. Once again, this is sure to bring smiles and giggles as you read the tale. The illustrations are just perfect for the story. They are simple, but still manage to convey the appropriate emotions. A wonderful read.
